We have a dedicated band of volunteers who have carried out interesting tasks such as raising the sails and stocks by hand.  Every year there is a maintenance load, which includes painting the outside of the mill by using the cradle, but with the workers roped to prevent falls.  We provide the Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and training in its use.  Even if this sort of excitement doesn’t appeal, there are lots of inside jobs and many require skilled work.

We also have a group of guides who know the history and function of the mill and who take visitors up the mill, and run the mill on windy days.
