Each year there is basic maintenance to be done.

This includes inspection, cleaning and painting which takes place on a 5 year cycle:

• Cap and Fantail
• Smock
• Tower
• 1st pair of sails (sails lowered for painting on the ground)
• 2nd pair of sails

Now that the outside is completed, restoration will concentrate on the inside, with the aim of grinding corn again.  

All the machinery is available, but all the woodwork needs to be replaced, and the metalwork needs major refurbishment.
